Railway. Very convenient, but rather expensive way of transportation. The country’s main rail carrier is the RENFE company, which performs transportation between major Spanish cities. Bus. The cheapest way to get around Spain. There is no state company of intercity bus services, but the departures of regional private companies can be found in any of the regions of the country. The price of a bus ticket here depends on the distance of the direction and the class of the bus;

Car rental. To rent a car, a tourist needs an international driver’s license and a passport, sometimes at least 21-23 years old and a driving experience of 1-2 years. The rental price is from 30 to 80 euros per day and primarily depends on the class of the car. Companies may require a credit card and a deposit.

Attractions

There are many attractions in Spain, it is impossible to see all of them in one visit. It is worth paying attention to the following attractions:

  • Church in Malaga. It is the smallest church in the world, diameter – 1.5 meters, located in Andalusia, in the southern Spanish town of Malaga;
  • Organ in the Chapel of Capilla de Obispo Diego de Anaya. Located in the province of Salamanca and is considered the oldest body in Europe;
  • Alcazar castle. The building, dating back to the Middle Ages, has an irregular shape, similar to a ship cape, and is located in the ancient town of Segovia. The castle was built on the highest local hill in the 16th century on the ruins of a Roman palace;
  • Coca Castle. It is represented by a combination of Arabic and medieval style of architecture, therefore it looks like an Arab palace and a castle of the Middle Ages at the same time. Located in the province of Segovia, was one of the defensive fortresses;
  • Singing Fountains. One of the most visited attractions. At least 2.5 million tourists visit here every year. Located in Barcelona;
  • Plaza Mayor. It is located in the capital of Italy – Madrid – and is an important architectural and historical monument. There was a bullfighting theater here, now the old buildings are complemented by many bars and performances by street musicians;
  • Monument to Christopher Columbus – traveler and naturalist. Considered one of the symbols of Barcelona, it is located at a height of 70 meters above the observation deck. It is especially interesting for tourists interested in the history and culture of Spain;
  • National Museum Reina Sofia Center for the Arts. Located in Madrid and famous for the Picasso collection;
  • Serralbo Museum. Here, tourists interested in history and archeology can see porcelain, carpets and fabrics created in different eras of history;
  • Theater-Museum of Salvador Dali. The museum is dedicated to the surrealist artist Salvador Dali. It is located in Catalonia, in the city of Figueres. It was opened at the end of September 1974;
  • Museum of Gaudí. Located in Reus and dedicated to the architectural genius Antoni Gaudí. The building has 4 floors and invites you to get acquainted with the biography and works of Gaudí.

Hotels

The hotel base of Spain is comparable to other European countries, here tourists will find quality food, decent service and excellent facilities. Please note: local beaches are not tied to hotels, so beach equipment must be rented for a fee.

Spain has a huge number of hotels and inns of various formats:

  • Hostal (hotel for families). This is a small mansion, or one or more entrances or floors belonging to one particular family;
  • Albergue / Refugi (shelter). This is the name of heated houses, conveniently located near tourist routes. Inside there is a kitchen and the necessary things for overnight stays and accommodation. The cost of renting for the night ranges from 12 to 18 euros;
  • Pension (boarding house). A private hotel for a family is somewhat lower in level than a Hostal. Often rented only for the night. Sometimes they are presented as residential apartments in houses with lockable rooms and a shared bathroom and kitchen. The cost of the night is 20-25 euros;
  • Villa (villa). Expensive private home, often with a tennis court, swimming pool, yard or playground for children. Full and partial delivery is possible (for example, a wing of a building, a floor). During the peak season, renting a villa in the resorts costs 600 euros per week;
  • Casa Rural (country house). Country house with a garden in picturesque places, near water bodies, in mountains and plains. Fully rented, the cost per day is about 60 euros;
  • Aparthotel/Residencia (aparthotel/residence). A house of apartments or apartments with a kitchen and everything you need for living. The number of tenants is not taken into account, such a house is rented out completely. The cost of rent per day is from 60 euros and above;
  • Parador (inn). A monastery, castle, palace or fortress owned by the state, where rooms are rented out. Level of service – 4-5 * hotel;
  • Camping (camping). Option for tourists traveling by car. Campsites are divided into three levels according to comfort, but the cost of living per person is at least 7-9 euros;
  • Apartments/Apartamentos (apartments). Apartments in residential buildings, rented for a period of a week or more. The rental price depends on the duration of the lease and the area of the apartment.
