The Macao Peninsula, a gambling paradise located 60 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong, has a subtropical climate. In the summer, which coincides with the European summer, it is warm (>30°C) and humid. Most precipitation falls from April to October, often in short heavy showers in the late afternoon. In spring and summer, typhoons regularly pass over. October to December is the best time to travel: it is dry and pleasantly warm at 25°C.
